Who Are the Foothills Kinettes?

Community. Friendship. Fun. Making a difference. That’s what being a Foothills Kinette is all about!

We’re a group of women from across the Foothills who come together to give back to our communities, support local organizations, build friendships and skills, and—most importantly—have fun while doing it!

We’re Here to Make a Difference

The Foothills Kinettes was renamed in 2017 from the Kinette Club of High River, which was originally chartered in 2006. We chose our new name to better reflect the many communities our members call home and the projects we support throughout the Foothills.

From fundraising events and community projects to rolling up our sleeves and volunteering, we’re always looking for ways to make our communities a little brighter.

You don’t have to be a member to help, but we’d love to see you at one of our monthly dinner meetings to see if joining Kinettes may be a fit for you!

A Few Things We’ve Been Up To…

Throughout the year, our members donate countless volunteer hours and financial support to organizations and events such as:

  • Heaven Can Wait
  • High River Gift of Music
  • Magic of Christmas
  • Poppy Funds for the High River, Okotoks and Diamond Valley Legions
  • Sheep River Health Trust
  • Salvation Army Food Bank & Toy Drive
  • Light Up High River
  • High River Santa Claus Parade
  • And many more!

From Big Projects to Big Hearts

Our biggest physical project to date is something we’re especially proud of: The Foothills Kinettes Water Tower Park in High River.

It’s a lasting reminder of what can happen when a community comes together—and we’re thrilled to have played a part in making it happen.

Supporting the Next Generation

We believe in investing in the future, too!  Students are encouraged to apply for Kin Canada bursaries to help with their post-secondary education. Our club also awards a local bursary each year to a student entering post-secondary education.

Part of Something Bigger

The Foothills Kinettes are proud to be part of Kin Canada’s wider network of community-minded volunteers.

District 4 Kin (Alberta) has a province-wide partnership with STARS Air Ambulance, while Kin Canada also has national partnerships with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Canadian Blood Services.

Want to Lend a Hand?

You don’t have to be a Kinette to make a difference with us.

Whether you can spare an hour, help out at an event, lend a particular skill, or simply want to get involved in your community, we’d love to hear from you!

Come volunteer with us, meet some great people, and have a little fun along the way.
