Kin Canada is a Canadian Service Organization with a focus on serving the communities in which the clubs operate while embracing fellowship, building skills, planning events, attending conferences, and having fun. We strive to create a positive atmosphere within our clubs with a goal to ensuring every member or visitor feels valued and welcomed.
The Foothills Kinettes evolved from The Kinette Club of High River in the summer of 2017 to reflect the various communities that our members call home, as well as the projects we are involved in beyond High River.
We work on various projects for which we can always use volunteers! Our annual Ladies Night Out in the spring is always a hit. We are able to contribute meaningful monetary support to many local charities with the proceeds from this event, including most recently Food Banks from High River, Okotoks and Diamond Valley.
We love to contribute volunteer hours as well as funding to many community organizations. Some of those we have supported and worked with recently include Heaven Can Wait, High River Gift of Music, Magic of Christmas, Poppy Funds for High River, Okotoks, and Diamond Valley Legions, Sheep River Health Trust, the Salvation Army Food Bank and Toy Drive, Light Up High River, High River Santa Claus Parade, and many others.
We also encourage students to apply for Kin Canada bursaries (click HERE to apply), and our club also provides a local bursary to a student entering post-secondary education each year.
Our biggest physical project to date has been the construction of the Foothills Kinettes Water Tower Park in High River. Click here for the Facebook Page link.
District 4 Kin (Alberta) has a province-wide partnership with STARS Air Ambulance, and national partnerships with Cystic Fibrosis and Canadian Blood Services.
If you are interested in volunteering for any of our projects, please contact us – you don’t need to be a member to give us a hand!
